Hands like houses to tour re-vamped track ‘through glass’ to Wollongong – playing UOW Unibar, October 16

Homegrown rock favourites Hands Like Houses have lifted the lid on a stunning new version of their track ‘Through Glass’ – taken from from their critically acclaimed 2018 album – Anon. – this time with rising Melbourne pop artist Samsaruh adding vocals. If the original of ‘Through Glass’ wasn’t enough of a modern rock earworm already, Samsaruh breathes new life into the track with her delicate vocals and pop flavour.

Alongside the new music comes the announcement that Hands Like Houses will embark on a whopping 20-stop regional Australian tour through October and November. A year on from bagging the coveted triple j Feature Album packet and peaking at #4 on the ARIAs with – Anon., the band are hardly leaving a corner of the country unturned and will trek as far as Margaret River, Cairns and Hobart as part of the tour. Support will come in the form of Brisbane rock outfit Young Lions.

Hands Like Houses vocalist Trenton Woodley explains that since its very inception, ‘Through Glass’ felt like a two person narrative, and the band were keen to bring someone from outside of the “rock” sphere to take on the other side of the story.

“[We wanted] someone that would bring their own style and flavour to a song we were already immensely proud of,” he adds. “We were lucky enough to cross connections with Samsaruh, an incredible emerging artist in her own right, and she was an absolute gem to work with, bringing a new sense of urgency, passion and atmosphere that made ‘Through Glass’ feel like it was always meant to be this way.”
