GARDEN PARTY 2019 LINEUP ANNOUNCED – AT UOW UNIBAR, MARCH 22

Posted on February 11, 2019

UOW UniBar and Yours and Owls are teaming up again to bring back Wollongong’s BIGGEST student party for the 16th year running. This year the team is hosting its tastiest party yet with DZ DEATHRAYS, CONFIDENCE MAN and SAMPA THE GREAT headlining an all-star Australian music line-up featuring local band GOOD LEKKER.

DZ DEATHRAYS are a dance-punk duo hailing from Brisbane, Australia and have toured over 15 countries with 3 studio albums and 3 Eps. Their debut album Bloodstreams won Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album at the 2012 ARIA Awards. Their recent music video for single ‘Like People’ features Murray Cook of Red Wiggle fame (if you’re lucky he may just pop up at Garden Party).

CONFIDENCE MAN are and electro-pop band from Brisbane, Australia whose debut album ‘Confident Music for Confident People’ has had music lovers alike grooving since it dropped earlier this year. Formed by band members from The Belligerents, Moses Gunn Collective and The Jungle Giants, CONFIDENCE MAN are known for their high-energy, choreographed dance routines and outlandish costumes. Their track ‘Boyfriend’ featured in this year’s Netflix smash-hit ‘To All The Boys I’ve Ever Loved Before’.

SAMPA THE GREAT is one of Australia’s greatest and most innovative MCs. Born in Zambia, the Melbourne based rapper won the Australian Music Prize in 2018 for her ground-breaking mixtape ‘Birds and the BEE9’. Her sound blurs the boundaries between hip-hop, soul, jazz, gospel and reggae, and she has performed as the opening act for Joey Bada$$, Kendrick Lamar and Thundercat.

With this year’s massive line-up, GARDEN PARTY is expected to sell out fast. There’s no better way to start the 2019 Academic Year than with our GARDEN PARTY.
