Sun-soaked indies Caravãna Sun have today announced their spirited new single Come Back, set for release on August 17. Come Back is a heartfelt ode to a lost friend; a bridge between this world and the next. Come Back precedes Caravãna Sun’s sparkling new EP Silver Linings, a full body experience of a release that will encourage not only dancing and singalongs, but self-reflection as well, out September 14. To celebrate the EP, Caravãna Sun will be hitting the road on a massive tour across Australia, which includes some coveted festival slots at the renowned Wave Rock, Under The Trees and Celebrate Gold Coast festivals. The Silver Linings national tour will kick off at Denmark Civic Centre in WA on September 14, before moving through Margaret River, Broome, Fremantle, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Cairns, Airlie Beach, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, and wrapping up at Torquay Hotel in Torquay, VIC, on October 27.

Come Back is more than a song. It’s almost a prayer, or at least, a message to a loved one who is no longer in this world. It’s a little more subtle than previous single Beauty and The Pain, however it’s still got that same memorability, the same energy and the same musicality that fans have come to expect from Caravãna Sun. Bassist and vocalist Ant Beard offers a little more insight into the inspiration behind the track, saying, “Come Back is a heartfelt, honest and raw take on the loss of a loved one. Amidst a sea of emotion surrounding the reality of losing something so precious, lies a pure human cry for that person to return. To fill the space that nobody could replace. The song was inspired when fellow musician and good friend of the band Jae Haydon, lost his life in the ocean, surfing the reefs of Indonesia. Though he passed away doing something he loved, there was still such an overwhelmingly sad tone that had washed over everybody he touched. Jae was a young, incredible musician and friend to so many. This song is dedicated to Jae but also a song for his family and everybody who had the great fortune to know him.”

The Silver Linings EP, recorded at Sound Park Studio in Melbourne with renowned producer Stephen Schram (Paul Kelly, San Cisco, The Cat Empire) is Caravãna Sun’s take on a turbulent world. A clear, eloquent collection of songs, each with as much heart as Come Back, and each with saturated guitars, driving percussion and thoughtful lyrics that are sure to soundtrack many long summer drives for fans around the world. Ant reflects on the process of writing and creating the EP, “Connection to life through love has been an overarching theme beneath the entire EP. Each song represents some form of connection within our lives, our connection to love in the modern world, our connection with perception and ultimately our connection with death. Take for example, Modern Love which speaks about the struggles between true love and the temptations of modern forms of addiction (social media, screen time, etc). The song Waterfalls, looks at the acceptance of life force and death, as if it’s a moment in time that will eventually fade away. The songs inspiration came from experiences of the band passing through places like Malta and Portugal. It is in these countries we often saw older locals sitting out on the street soaking up the last bit of the day. It almost seemed as if they were waiting to fade away like dust.”

After a massive year playing to thousands of people nationally and across the globe (the band is currently on a 22 date tour of Europe / UK), Caravãna Sun are set to play new tracks from Silver Linings and old faves for fans across Australia throughout September and October. Reflecting on their year of international success and pumped for the upcoming EP tour, Ant says, “The reception to our music was truly overwhelming to say the least. Most nights we were walking out onto stages with 3000 to 5000 beautiful faces, waiting to see what a bunch of touring Australians have to sing about. To think that our songs, some inspired by time spent walking around on Bardi Country in the Kimberley, find their way onto this incredible international platform is mind blowing! Our shows are hugely dependent on crowd connection and the unique reception gives each song life…our EP tour is going to be epic.”

“Two of the go-to guys in Australian dance music”- The Ripe

What happens when two great forces of inimitable talent collide and morph into one?

Carmada,of course. Upon finishing their 2014 Splendour In The Grass show in front of a 10k crowd, L D R U and Yahtzel, two of Australia’s most talked about young producers, decided to go beyond their B2B set and previous collaborative efforts by merging their mad production skills and sheer talent to officially form Carmada.

The pair locked themselves away in the studio for the first time after their joint single “The Only One” dropped on Future Classic in March 2014, to create their groundbreaking first EP “Realise” – a release so hot that it hit #1 on the Australian iTunes Album Charts and had everyone from Skrillex to triple j were screaming their name.
Lead single ‘Maybe’ has gone on to be certified GOLD, hit #41 on 2015’s triple j Hottest 100 and has amassed a huge 7 million streams. With ‘On Fire’, also a triple favourite, over 4 million streams itself the “Realise” EP has been heard over 13 million times. Carmada have also performed on some of Australia’s biggest festival stages, including Stereosonic and Splendour In The Grass, along with multiple Australian and North American tours. Individually, Drew Carmody (L D R U) and Max Armata (Yahtzel) have been stirring up quite the storm over the past few years, repping Australia by establishing themselves as highly sought after pioneers of indie dance music.

Sydney’s own Carmody first made cyclonic waves in Aussie and international waters when he released his breakthrough single “The Tropics” on indie label Future Classic. He now has a double platinum hit with ‘Keeping Score’ as well as single ‘Next To You’ which was certified GOLD.
This month, L D R U released his first EP “Sizzlar” and also announced a regional tour.

In turn, Armata’s journey to becoming part of Australia’s elite squad of emerging electronic music innovators, kicked off when his remix of Rules’ – “Impatient” was featured in Flume’s BBC6 Radio mix and on indie YouTube channel Majestic Casual. Heads turned when his follow up “High With Me” dropped earlier this year, racking up over 4 million plays across Youtube and Soundcloud – sending the 21-year-old on a 26-show Australasian tour, selling out shows and performing at major Australian festivals including Listen Out, Future Music, Field Day and Stereosonic.

Last year, they released a collab track with NGHTMRE under Mad Decent, which has over a million and a half streams on Spotify. They also played ThisThat and Split Milk Festival, announcing their anticipated return. They also were given the opportunity to remix the legendary, Fatboy Slim for his remix EP, Fatboy Slim VS Australia. The Carmada remix of “Right Here, Right Now” premiered on Triple J and has clocked over 45,000 streams on Spotify.

What’s next on the cards for Carmada? Keep an eye out for their debut second EP out late 2018!

Comprised of Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins, Tigers Jaw has gripped listeners and press across the globe with their candid compositions and alluring harmonies. spin sees Walsh and Collins trading off lead vocals which glow with sincerity on this collection of incredibly understated indie-pop classics. Their fifth full length marks a new chapter for the Scranton, Pennsylvania-based indie rock band for many reasons: Not only is it the first collection of songs that was completely written and recorded solely by Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins, but it was also the first time they had a full month in the studio without having to worry about outside responsibilities. Furthermore it’s the inaugural release on Atlantic Records’ new imprint Black Cement, a label spearheaded by the band’s longtime collaborator Will Yip who returned to the production helm for spin.

Tracks such as “Guardian,” “June,” and “Escape Plan” shine on spin, which follows Tigers Jaw’s 2014 critically adored LP, Charmer. “…The sound of a band bravely moving forward,” declared Pitchfork while Stereogum applauded Walsh and Collins’, “…soul-baring lyrical honesty,” adding, “Tigers Jaw are a revelation…” Profoundly personal and vibrantly textured, spin exhibits Walsh and Collins’ remarkable ability to capture the sentiments and complexities of a moment through melody and introspection.

November 2018 will see Tigers Jaw be playing an ALL AGES show in Wollongong!

As Wollongong vibrates with the current array of live music events recently announced, Yours & Owls are teaming up with Chugg Entertainment to dish up the cherry on top. Multi-platinum Brisbane sibling super-group Sheppard have just announced they’ll be heading to Wollongong, August 11 as part of Y&O Big Top Series taking place at Wollongong’s Innovation Campus.

Their US top 40 hit “Geronimo” went platinum in 21 countries alongside achieving well over quarter of a BILLION streams. Their recent funk-tinged single “Edge of the Night” became a smash hit in Europe and Latin America and they cemented their global status further with the release of “Coming Home”.

Sheppard returned to their hometown of Brisbane in December of 2015, and headed to North Stradbroke Island for what was a much-needed break to reset and start fresh. “We just blocked ourselves off from that noise. A few days in we thought, ‘There’s no one else here. This is just us,’” George says. “‘Let’s pretend if we were beginning a band, starting from scratch, what would we do?’ That was the turning point.”

The Stradbroke trip also forced the band to ask themselves why they write music. “We realised we do it for ourselves,” George says. “This is our job. This is what we like to do. Let’s keep going and be the very best we can be.”

Following on from this, the band immersed themselves in an intensive series of writing sessions in Los Angeles and will be rolling in hot this August to bring Wollongong a killer, family-friendly show, like it’s never seen before!

Yours & Owls Big Top Edition featuring Sheppard will be the all-ages show of the year with Sheppard set to produce the performance of their career thus far.

The wait is finally over for fans of The Superjesus! 2016 brought the release of the ‘Love and Violence’ EP following a stellar return to the live circuit after a ten year hiatus.

Following an overwhelming reaction to a one-off reunion show in their hometown of Adelaide, The Superjesus have since completed a sold out national headline tour, sold out national co-headline tours with Baby Animals and The Tea Party, and shared festival stages with Van Halen, Aerosmith and Bryan Adams.

With 3 x ARIA Awards and multi platinum albums; Sumo, Jetage, Rock Music and hit singles Gravity, Secret Agent Man, Shut My Eyes, Down Again and more, The Superjesus are no doubt one of Australia’s most successful and respected rock bands who remain a staple on Aussie rock radio. They have expertly managed to bridge the gap between their instantly recognisable late 90s hits and their current melodic rock sound – bringing together new fans and those who’ve been loyal for 20 years.

Sarah McLeod and Stuart Rudd have stood the test of time, and they now boast matured musicality and more raw energy than ever before.  They are currently working on a full length album to be scheduled for 2018, look out.
