Birds Of Tokyo announce new Canberra date of ‘Good Lord’ tour as single goes gold – playing ANU Kambri Precinct, September 27
Fresh from a performance at the AFL’s Anzac Day match, which saw no less than 6 of their tracks re-enter the charts, Birds of Tokyo announce new dates for their September ‘Good Lord’ Tour.
Already in the enviable position of selling out multiple dates on the tour, second Birds shows have been announced today for Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne. Brisbane has been upscaled to a larger venue due to popular demand and dates have also been added in Newcastle & Wollongong, as well as reaching Canberra on September 27.
In other good news for the band, ‘Good Lord’ has been certified Gold on the ARIA Singles Chart. The breakup anthem is already one of the most played songs on Australian radio, proving that there’s still some space on the commercial airwaves for electric guitars and real drums. The track is also climbing the streaming charts having been ensconced in Spotify’s Viral Top 10 for the last few weeks.
It’s been more than a decade since Birds of Tokyo formed in Perth and released their first few indie albums. Over the years since then, they’ve enjoyed 16 APRA Award nominations – more than any other band in history – and 11 of their songs have made the triple j Hottest 100.
The ‘Good Lord’ Tour is proudly presented by Channel [V].
