Beach goth underground icons bring their latest LP ‘A Natural Affair’ down to the Southern Hemisphere – playing uow unibar, January 10

Posted on October 16, 2019

Icons of the Los Angeles underground The Growlers announce their return to our golden coast this Summer for their biggest run of Australian shows to date.

The twelve-date tour which celebrates the release of the bands sixth studio album Natural Affair (Out October 25) is destined to be a travelling circus of colour, movement and sound all the way down the East Coast stopping in most big centres and surf breaks across QLD, NSW and VIC. The beach goths will land in Wollongong on January 10th.

Let’s just come out and say it: The Growlers are the biggest band you’ve never heard of. Longtime icons of the Los Angeles underground music scene and fan favorites the world over, the band managed to fly under the radar of mainstream attention while building a passionate following that rivals some of the biggest acts on the festival circuit…until now.

The band is thrilled to present Natural Affair, the new full-length studio LP to be released October 25, 2019, on their very own Beach Goth Records and Tapes. On Natural Affair, The Growlers (led by singer Brooks Nielsen and music director/guitarist Matt Taylor) advance their swampy aesthetic into a sturdier, synthier, dancier sound, bolstered by Nielsen’s finest lyrics to date: social commentary, rhymes, and ruminations on the pleasures (and perils) of modern love.
